The new 33,400-square-foot facility brings Dallas Fire-Rescue and airport operations teams into a single building, replacing a 1960s-era station whose location had added to emergency response times. The station is now paired with a liquid-cooled electric charger built to support the airport’s growing electric fleet. The all-electric PANTHER is no slouch on performance: it can go from 0 to 50 mph in under 25 seconds on electric power alone — under 20 seconds in Boost Mode, compared to 28 seconds for its diesel counterpart. It can also throw water or foam up to 250 feet, a 40% increase over the diesel truck’s 190-foot reach, while its electric motors cut noise by roughly half during emergency responses. The truck is currently in a six-month test period covering daily operations, training, and side-by-side comparisons with the airport’s existing apparatus, with Dallas Fire-Rescue’s feedback helping Rosenbauer refine the vehicle before full production. The partnership supports the City of Dallas Aviation Department’s goal of an emission-free fleet by 2040. Photos: @box111photography
