At 3:40 PM on Sunday, August 24th, Charlotte Fire Alarm received a 911 call for a person trapped in a pipe at 613 E 27th Street, located in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood. Engine 7 arrived first and located a woman with her leg stuck knee-deep in a narrow hole. Rescue 10, operating in a reserve unit, was assigned to assist and used pneumatic tools to perform the extrication. After approximately 35 minutes of work, the patient was successfully freed. Charlotte Fire then transferred care to MEDIC 16 without incident.
